Accessibility

USTPA wants everyone to be able to buy tickets, follow the drawings and claim prizes, including people who use screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control or a keyboard instead of a mouse.
1. Our standard
We build this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, the standard used for the Americans with Disabilities Act. We test every page with automated accessibility checks before each release, and we check the main tasks by keyboard.
2. What we do
- Every page has a “Skip to main content” link, a single main heading and labelled navigation areas.
- Every form field has a visible label. Hints and error messages are connected to their fields so screen readers announce them.
- Status messages, such as “order paid” or a form error, are announced without moving your focus.
- Images have text alternatives. Purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Text and controls meet contrast requirements, and the keyboard focus is always visible.
- Pages work when zoomed to 200 percent and on small screens, and tap targets are at least 24 pixels.
- Animations, including the drawing countdown and confetti, are turned off if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Tickets are emailed as text as well as a PDF, so ticket numbers can always be read aloud.
3. Known limits
Paying with Venmo happens in the Venmo app, which we do not control. The card form uses Authorize.net to process payments, and its accessibility depends partly on that service.
QR codes on tickets and seller pages are a shortcut only. The same link or ticket number is always shown as text next to them.
4. Get help or report a problem
If anything on this site is hard to use, tell us what page you were on and what happened. We will help you finish what you were doing, by email, by phone, or through a USTPA member who can record your purchase for you.
